Thank you for visiting my photography pages. Please feel free to browse my site and leave any comments that you may have. I have been passionate about nature and the outdoors since my toddler years and have always enjoyed exploring and learning more about what goes on around me.
After leaving school I found myself in the taxidermy industry – strange you may think, but very educational and rewarding in ways you would not think. I specialized in birds and small mammals and these were all creatures that had died from accidents and were never killed for this purpose. There was a lot to learn about the locomotion of many species and the art of getting the particular bird or mammal to look as real as possible was very challenging.
My taxidermy career was however short-lived and I set out to learn more. In 1995 I joined a well-known overland company and for the next 4 years spent my time guiding tours and safaris throughout Southern and East Africa. Visiting places like the Serengeti Plains had always just been a dream of mine, but after 4 years I had seen the Serengeti on 8 different occasions and watched the wildebeest and zebra migration in full force.
In 1998 a friend and I started our own company – Outlook Safaris –
www.krugerparksafari.com and 13 years down the line we are still going strong. It was however once Outlook Safaris started that I pursued my enjoyment in photography. I am by no means a professional photographer, but try and learn as I go along.
I have been fortunate enough to have some of my photos in a couple of magazines and now also in a few Bird Guide Books. I will continue to add to this site as more photos are taken.
